As we have said in other articles, the INTRODUCTION and CONCLUSION are one of the most important parts of the thesis, which the State Attestation Commission pays special attention to. We have already discussed how to write an introduction in one of the previous articles, we will consider what a conclusion is and how to write it so that you do not have unnecessary questions.
WHAT IS THE CONCLUSION OF THE THESIS WORK?
Let’s figure it out right away – there are two types of conclusions: first, section conclusions, which summarize the results of the entire section; the second is a general conclusion. Here we will analyze it now.
Conclusion – the last section of the thesis (term paper and abstract), which comes after the general information, but before the list of sources and applications used.
HOW TO WRITE A CONCLUSION TO THE THESIS?
In conclusion, the following should be indicated:
- conclusions on the work done (describe theoretical and practical aspects);
- evaluation and analysis of the studies used;
- own conclusions and suggestions for solving the problems considered in the work.
Remember, we wrote that goals, tasks, and subjects of work are written in the introduction? So, in the conclusion, the results of the goals and objectives are written!
STRUCTURAL PARTS OF THE CONCLUSION
Like all thesis, the conclusion is also divided into three parts: the introduction, the main part, and the conclusion. Only here we do not highlight each sub-item with tables of contents, this division is conditional.
- in the introductory part of the conclusion, the results and conclusions of the considered theoretical aspect of the work are written;
- in the main part – the conclusions, results, and evaluation of the research and experiments carried out, that is, the evaluation of the practical part of the work is done;
- in the conclusion of all this, they assess the significance of the work done, here you need to describe your conclusions and recommendations for solving the problems that you faced at the beginning of the work.
SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL THESIS PROTECTION:
- Be on the same wavelength with the attestation commission – find a “golden mean” so that you, making a report, please all its members (and who will be on the commission – ask your manager, he probably knows most of the representatives).
- “Fill your ears” – never pause, do not hesitate, remember the importance of changing the tone of voice and the tempo of speech, and speak clearly and confidently.
- Write your report correctly.
- Tune in to victory – remember – you are not a victim, you are a graduate student, without a minute a SPECIALIST! How you set yourself up at the beginning of the defense, will be the result, because there is no such thing as a student who stumbles, blushes, stutters while defending a thesis, and gets excellent marks, even if the work itself is very good. Well, except that this student is not a protege of someone from the commission or employees of the educational institution.
- Do not say too much – speak in the report and answer questions strictly on the topic of the thesis and only what you know and what you are 100% sure of! After all, if you “blurt out too much” questions may arise that will drive you to a dead-end, and this will not lead to anything good.
EXAMPLE OF THE CONCLUSION OF THESIS WORK
Don’t write a lot of “water”! Let this part of the work not take up much space (usually 2-3 A4 pages), but in it, you will clearly describe the results and conclusions of the experiments and research did.
Before writing a conclusion, do not be too lazy to look through a couple of scientific works (thesis, master’s theses, articles), study how conclusions and recommendations are made there and start your own. Do not be afraid to ask your supervisor for help, because it was not for nothing that you were so careful about choosing him at the beginning of your thesis.
Sample conclusion in the thesis
The conclusion is an important part of the defense of the thesis because the student in his report must necessarily voice the conclusions that he made thanks to the research.
